Hi there and happy Monday! I recently had the pleasure of completing a special order for a new client who had an interesting request. She wanted a birthday card for a man that incorporated birch (as in trees or wood) in the theme. I typically give my clients two initial samples but I ended up showing her three designs to choose from.

 

In the first two designs, I took the theme literally and included thin real birch wood panels on the card. These designs also feature copper leaf embellishments (you can see my previous post “Fall Cards & a SCS Challenge (CAS284)” for a description of the treatment of the copper). The third card features a birch tree die cut placed dimensionally over a sponged ink background. I had fun creating these for my client. She selected card number 2 for the birthday card but decided to purchase the other two designs to give to her friend for him to use to send to someone else. What a great idea and what a special friend my client is. I’m looking forward to hearing how he reacts to his birthday surprises!
